The Indispensable Bruha: Grocery fiasco 101

From boring to busy... that's what happen whenever I do the grocery. I never got a list to buy but rest assured that there is always something new in my grocery bag.


You can say na magastos ako.  Well, I worked hard for it naman so no arguments for that please :)  It just that there is one specific place in a supermarket na di pwede na hindi ko madaanan; and that is International Section. 


I know its a lil bit of a controversy dahil mukhang hindi ako sumusuporta ng sariling atin. Hindi naman sa ganon guys.  I'm really curious of new products and learn new things na hindi mo lagi makikita within your area. I only experience this kind of insanity to SOME malls lang naman. Not all malls (supermarkets) got a good package of international variety.  


Kung tatanungin mo ako kung may listahan ako ng paboritong mall pagdating sa mga rare and not usual na pagkain, YES i do have it :D  well not of them are considered rare, di lang talaga tinitinda yun sa ibang grocery because of the price.  


and here is my short list :P


1. Rustan's Supermarket, located at Powerplant Mall  -- san ka ba makakakita ng isang buong parmesan cheese (pwede mong amuyin at hawakan) and pre - prep na ravioli. I cant help myself nung nakita ko yun.  Of course, im with my sister when we visited that place and all we can say is wow! and imagine they are selling blackberries and cherries ALL FRESH!!! 


2. Gaisano Supermarket, located at Market Market -- salsa, sauces and creams marami sila nun.  


3. Shopwise  - they always got good things in store that is affordable. Practicality wise, this is first in my list :D




and to introduce the new in my bag:

 Lay's munch and mash... well di ko naman nakuha sa international section but its new so i pick it for my sister :D 

Casino's Minestrone... this is made from France. Yah my sister can cook minestrone but since konti lang kami sa bahay, we'll have the instant nalang hehehe 

ano sabe??!?! 




dont worry hinanap naman namin ni ate ang translation sa net. thanks to babylon, di pala kailangan pakuluan... slow cooking lang ang drama nito.... 




meron din po pala akong biniling panlinis bahay Cif po yung pangalan pero ung ibang description di ko na maintindihan kasi Chinese... wala namang nakalagay na bungo na may x  ☠ kea ok lang... sinubukan ko narin kea walang picture... di naman po natunaw ung kamay ko (whew!) kasi nakapagblog pa ako... 






it was really a great day kanina.  Kahit traffic, i still enjoyed every moment kasi nakalibot ako at natuto ako ng French :D hehehe.

out of butter :( 

got a can of milk...

and TOTALLY UNINSPIRED ME!!!!

I'm planning to bake my newly loved recipe Lemon Poppy Seed loaf without the poppy seed (LOL) but suddenly i changed my mind after I opened the refrigeration and found out that I'm out of butter... well i don't really blame it to my yellow friend but I don't really bake if I'm ummm... uninspired or not really in the mood... I just got that feeling of not doing anything and just to eat some sweets or even pastries.  I'm already planning to call for delivery (either from McDonalds or from Jollibee) but I just got to my senses and tell myself that it would be better to just stay put and watch TV.

Good thing that there are still good shows airing... just watched National Geographic's Dog Whisperer. 

After that, I started to play Coco Girl again (as usual) until I get tired.  Not really a bad day now a great one.  well i just need to look forward for tomorrow :)  positive thinking i guess haha!!!

University of Santo Tomas: Unending Grace

January 27, 2012:  a date to remember... why?

That was the last day of UST's Quadricentennial celebration.  As an alumna of the said university, my sister and I wont let it pass, without US being a part of it.  Our journey started at Ortigas. I paid my house bill and we ate some snacks at Panciteria Lido located at Shaw boulevard, Mandaluyong City

After getting satiated with all of the foods we ate, we rode a taxi to our scheduled destination. From Ortigas - Espana, even with a uber heavy traffic, my sis and I just made it on time.  We were able to take pictures (probably for 30 mins ) before the awaited fireworks presentation.

we didn't roam the whole perimeter since its only few minutes to go for the pyromusical. I took some pictures and if you want to see the complete presentation, I would like to thank first Dragon Fireworks who owned the clip that I'm sharing.  They did a great job in making the celebration memorable

so spectacular and so magical.  it was a 10-12 min presentation.  My neck ached after the pyromusical but it is still a blast.  I cant get enough of it and we want to stay for long. So we decided to have a "journey to the past" walk, reminiscing the old days when we both stroll the grounds of UST

to end the day, both of us got a good night sleep and before I take a rest, here are the souvenirs from the event  :D

Queuing...


Hindi na bago ang salitang ito sa akin.... Ito na marahil ang nakakasalamuha ko sa araw - araw. Ang kaaway ko, at bumubuhay sa akin.  Pero ano nga ba ang salitang Queue??? 


eto ba ang kasama ng saging sa banana que? or sosyal na tawag sa pantusok sa barbeque?


kung meron sa inyo ang hindi nakakaalam kung ano ito, ating tanungin si Merriam Webster

nakakabit sa salitang ito ang "waiting" o kaya naman ay paghihintay.  Sino nga ba ang mahilig sa queue?  Ang tao, napakabilis mainip.  Ayaw natin maghintay sa tamang sakayan kasi pwede ka naman ma-pick up ng jeep kahit nasa island ka ng kalsada nakatayo.  Ayaw mo rin maghintay sa linya kaya minsan nakikipila ka nalang sa Senior Citizen's lane at mangaaway ng cashier. Ayaw mo rin na naghihintay sa kasamang halos 30 mins ng late dahil sa traffic at lalong lalo na, ayaw ng lahat ang uminit ang upuan sa loob ng sasakyan dahil sa sobrang traffic.

Lagi nating nararanasan ang salitang ito.  Minsan dahil sa mabagal na proseso, kaya nagkakaroon ng queue. Mayroon din naman pagkakataon na sabay sabay lang talaga ang mga tao kaya nasasama ka sa isang matinding problema.

Hindi naman masama ito. May pagkakataon na ito ay isang mabuting bagay para tayo makapagisip. kung lahat ng bagay ay mabilis, minsan nakakaligtaan natin ang mga bagay na importante sa atin.  Ganito narin ata pagdating sa Love...

Nasanay na akong queuing ang love sa buhay ko.  Sa tagal ko nang pagiging single, pakiramdam ko ay laging walang oras si kupido para panain ang lalakeng gusto ko.  Di na rin ako umasa kasi nga masama ang maging assuming at masama rin ang umaasa sa wala. Well, pasalamat narin ako kahit papaano dahil kahit hindi ako maasikaso ni Kupido, nagkaroon ako ng pagkakataon na maging mapanuri at makapaghanda.  

Tinuruan din ako nito na maging mapagpasenya at matutong maghintay.  Kahit sa bilis ng panahon ngayon, kailangan din natin na maghintay ng tamang tiyempo tulad nga sa sayaw.  

Naisip ko na isa lang ako sa maraming nakapila para matugunan ang hiling na magkaroon na love life at sa queuing ito, minsan dun din tayo nakakatagpo ng kasabayan natin sa paghihintay.

Di naman pala masama ang queue. Di masama ang maghintay.  Dahil minsan ang paghihintay ang siyang magbibigay sa atin ng pagkakataon para mahanap ang gusto natin makita.
